The only way for us to grow is to undergo a real process. There will be crying, hurting, pressing, breaking, and crushing. There is no shortcut to becoming what God has called you to be.

But sometimes, when we are going through a difficult process, we are so quick to question everything… even God. “Out of many people, why do I get to experience this?” “Why is this happening to me, Lord?” “Do I deserve this?” When we are in the midst of a painful process, we are so quick to be discouraged. But I encourage you to look back and reminisce about everything that has happened, then you will begin to understand why God allowed it to happen. The thing that you thought was destroying you, was the thing God was using to build you. Next time you encounter trials, do not see it as a problem but, see it as a process. And when you are in the midst of it, rejoice! James 1:2-4 reminds us, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” You might not understand why you are experiencing tough situations but choose to continue trusting God. Time will come and you’ll say, “Thank You, Lord. Now I understand why you have allowed those things to happen.” “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 (NIV)
